Sports Hall Granwood Flooring
Granwood floors are considered to be very durable. They are also resistant to water, fire, wet and dry rot, extreme temperature fluctuations and humidity, most chemicals and is guaranteed not to warp, twist, buckle or splinter. A Granwood floor is constructed of cement, by-product of softwood sawdust, fillers, binders and pigments. It is formed under high pressure, impregnated with linseed oil and heat cured for stability. Granwood flooring comes in different colours such as Hopton Wood, Natural Oak, Beige, Maplewood Buff, Ice Blue, Mahogany, Sea Green, Standard Oak, Persian Grey and Black.
Flooring Works: Sports Hall Deep Cleaning Service, Court Line Marking and Granguard Polyurethane Lacquer
As part of our deep cleaning service we were instructed to apply a polyurethane protection and re-paint all badminton lines in this sport hall due to the lines fading in colour. We used our scrubber drier for the deep cleaning part of the works. Using a 100 grit mesh screen disc on our Numatic buffing machine we abraded the floor to a fine finish creating a key to ensure the Granguard polyurethane lacquer adhered to the floor. As Granwood floors are very porous we thoroughly vacuumed and tack mopped the floor before taping and re-painting the badminton lines using Granpaint. Two coats of Granguard solvent based polyurethane lacquer were subsequently applied. The sport hall was returned to a clean and protected state ready for the huge amount of hirers this leisure centre has.
