Pine Wood Floor Sanding Woodford Green Essex
Project Description: Full sand, gap fill and re-seal of pine wood floor
This lovely pine floor had been under carpets for a long time. Due to the carpet adhesive the pine floor had turned grey and was worn. We were therefore asked to sand, fill all gaps with wood slivers where possible and re-lacquer the floor using Junckers High Performance lacquer in ultra-matt finish. Due to the unevenness of the boards we sanded the floor diagonally before sanded along the grain of the wood. The sanding procedure was completed on a 100 grit belt and 100 grit edging disc to ensure the floor was uniform. The joints between the boards were filled with pine wood slivers where the gaps were larger than 3mm. Where the gaps were smaller than 3mm, Lecol wood filler and dust from the sanding procedure were used. The floor was then abraded and thoroughly vacuumed. After application of 1 coat of Junckers Baseprime the floor was left to dry thoroughly. To finish we applied two coats of Junckers HP Commercial ultra-matt polyurethane lacquer.
After removing the laminate flooring in the lounge and carpet in the bedroom of our 1 bedroom flat, we were left with very grey dusty floorboards. From start to finish, Conrad was a pleasure to work with. From quoting for the work, inspecting the premises and recommending areas which may require attention before his work could commence to completing the work. Conrad was clean, efficient and kept us informed everyday with his progress. The floorboards are now a gorgeous warm pine colour finished in a matt lacquer, perfectly smooth and all gaps filled. Conrad takes great pride in his work and I have already made many recommendations to friends and family. Wonderful job, couldn’t be happier.”
