Engineered Wood Floor Sanding with Osmo Polyx-Oil
Project Description: Engineered Wood Floor Sanding with Osmo Polyx-Oil
This lovely engineered floor was in need of a sand and re-finish due to standard wear and tear. Due to the water resistance and natural look of an oil finish we recommended Osmo Polyx-Oil hard wax oil. As engineered boards consist of only a few millimetres of natural wood we didn’t want to start on a very coarse grit sand paper. Our sanding process began on a 50 grit belt finishing on a 100 grit sanding belt leaving the floor smooth and even. Edges were done with the same using our Bona Edge XL. Using our Nematic buffing machine the floor was then abraded before thoroughly vacuuming to remove any remaining surface dust. All of our sanding machines have built-in dust extraction reducing dust pollution and subsequent cleaning to an absolute minimum. The first coat of Osmo Polyx-Oil was applied at the end of the day leaving enough time for it to dry sufficiently over night. The following morning the finish was inspected for any imperfections. As none were found we vacuumed the floor again before applying the final coat. With Osmo Polyx-Oil the floor is now clean and protected for years to come.
“Perfect job, floor now better than when first laid. Conrad visited, assessed, quoted and gave us confidence we had picked the right person. On the day the floor was sanded, polished oiled and waxed finishing exactly on time with no mess whatsoever. Next morning second visit, arrived as before, exactly on time, as agreed, buffed re-oiled, job done. A tired maple floor now looking magnificent. Good price as well. Thank you Conrad.”
